You may or may not have noticed that I’ve been majorly MIA the past few weeks. To say I’ve been busy is a bit of an understatement. Between our washing machine breaking, our basement flooding, 3 kids, 9 dogs (including 7 puppies), preparing a gazillion items for the Vintage Market on May 4th at our home:
I also recently developed an official logo for The Ironstone Nest with the patient & talented help of Tracy from Sugar Lime Designs:
And I’m also in the midst of working very hard with a fabulous web designer to completely overhaul The Ironstone Nest website and move over to WordPress.
One of the reasons I’ve decided to redo the website is because of the blog journey I’ve been on and where I find myself today. I feel like when I began blogging I thought I knew what I wanted to do with it, then I feel as if I completely lost myself doing projects I’ve never done, following way too many blogs, and becoming something other than who I am. The bad taste in my mouth began in September of 2012. I started getting disheartened and turned off by what I was seeing from other bloggers. I thought about quitting a thousand times and saying the heck with all of it. But in my heart of hearts, I still love to transform furniture. I love to transform unwanted items. I love to transform trash to treasure. But most of all I love to share what I do with other people in the hopes that something I do or say may be a positive inspiration to someone.
You will soon see a lot of changes around here. I look forward to telling you more about why I’m making these changes and how I arrived here as soon as the website is up and running (hopefully within the next week or so).
In the meantime, next week will be “Vendor Feature Week” leading up to our amazing Vintage Market next Saturday, May 4th. Each day next week The Ironstone Nest will be featuring one of the lovely vendors whom you’ll get to meet at the sale.
It’ll be a great way for you to learn more about them and hear what you can expect to see from them at the sale. They’re all truly incredible, talented and kind and I cannot wait for you to meet them!
Have a great weekend everyone! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your continued support and patience during this major blog transition and my personal journey! I want to hug each and every one of you!
Thank you for reading!
