A Wire Basket and a Hypothetical

8 Jun

Have you prepared a “My Favorite Things” post yet?  Or are you at least thinking about a list of your very favorite things.  If you need some inspiration, check out my list and get ready to link up your post this coming Monday, June 11th!  It’s going to be a swinging link party.  I can’t wait to see what some of your favorite little things are!  And remember, your list can be as random as mine, or specific to cooking, decorating, crafts, gardening, whatever is your thing.  I hope you’ll join in the fun.
But let’s move on to a hypothetical for you, shall we?  Let’s say you come across a wire basket:
Just an ordinary, nothing fancy, rusted metal wire basket:

and you think to yourself “Hmm, that would like nice filled with flowers”.  So you decide to clean up the basket, cut a couple of strips of burlap

weave two strips of burlap through the basket, to soften up the hard metal lines:

Then maybe you decide to hang the basket just outside your back door on your patio . . .

You could then, hypothetically, grab some terracotta pots that were sitting in your shed unused, give them each a coat of ASCP in Old White . . .

Then maybe, just maybe, you remember that you have some cute little number tags (by Idea-ology) that you found at Hobby Lobby ($7.99 for 9) . . .

So you might decide to string two of them up and tie them to your basket (because everything looks better with a number on it, don’t you think?) . . .

(Chalkboard made from an old cupboard door hangs on the other side of our back door with galvanized buckets filled with none other than sidewalk chalk and bubbles, for backyard entertainment)

And then you might also decide to plant some variegated vinca vine and victoria blue salvia in your new wire basket . . .

You just might do these things.  IF you came across an old wire basket.  Hypothetically speaking, of course.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Thank you for reading!

XOXO
Laura
