About

The Ironstone Nest is a home decor, furniture refinishing, DIY blog with a little lifestyle thrown in for good measure.  I specialize in refurbishing antique furniture, re-purposing vintage found items, home staging, and interior decorating on a budget but I’m also a compulsive baker so you’ll see a recipe shared here once in a while as well.  I mean, I figure money can’t buy you happiness, but it can buy you cookies, which is kind of the same thing, right?

I am a lover of antiques and vintage finds.  I enjoy the thrill of the hunt at flea markets, garage sales, antique malls, estate sales and anywhere I can get my hands on a one-of-a-kind treasure.   But my true passion lies in refurbishing antique furniture and giving it a fresh new start.  It’s just what I love to do.  That passion came through in our Playroom Wardrobe, which is one my favorite furniture re-dos to date, or as you can see by the furniture I redid for an outdoor market in the fall of 2011.  We also think it’s very important to recycle and re-purpose in our Nest, and that is very apparent in our Outdoor Pallet Sofa project.  We love that sofa!

As for me personally, I love deep heart to hearts, contagious laughter and overfeeding guests.  I am completely addicted to white ironstone china, cookbooks and all things vintage or antique.  I’m a wife, mother, friend, dreamer and obsessive re-decorator.  My hope is that you might find some inspiration here.  I love this life, and this is me “makin’ the most of it”.

Thank you for joining me on this journey.  It’s wonderful to have you here with me!

Welcome to our Nest!
