Transformation Tuesday – March 12, 2013

We are currently undergoing our very own transformation as I type this post to you today.  The hubby is downstairs pulling up carpet and getting ready to rip out drywall down to the studs:

Looks like fun, ey?  I wish I could say it was because we planned on it.  Unfortunately, this is a surprise remodel project brought on by flooding in our basement due to the March meltdown and the inches of rain we had over the weekend.  After a few freak out moments, lots of pacing back and forth, a visit from our insurance agent, the purchase of another dehumidifier and a large wind fan, we feel like we’ve got it under control.  For now.

We’re still freaking out a little bit, but it is what it is.  We have a contractor coming over this afternoon to help us assess how this happened and where the water came from so we can hopefully prevent it from happening again.  Hopefully.

But enough about our dilemma.  Let’s move on to the fun stuff: YOUR beautiful projects!

Dream & Differ received the most likes (8) for Transformation Tuesday so far for creating a cute bunny silhouette inspired by Pottery Barn.  This proves that a little ingenuity goes a really long way.  Your entire vignette is adorable!

Create Inspire received some love from you guys, as well.  She turned a depression era hutch into a work of art!
And Blue Star Antiques scored huge (no pun intended) with this monster of an armoire and transformed it into a piece suitable for any home.

  1. We went through a plumbing disaster a few years ago that flooded our downstairs. I wish you the best of luck with the remodel. I really appreciate you hosting a party in the middle of this! I seem to be first and will return to view the other links!

  2. First, I’m so sorry to hear about your basement flooding! We’ve been through that also, so I totally sympathize. It’s so stressful, but it’s good to know that when it’s all said and done you won’t have to deal with it again.

Second, thank you so much for featuring my spring vignette! I’m tickled to have received so many ‘likes’!

Thanks for hosting and have a great week! :)

  3. Good luck – what a stressful experience ( been through it – so I definitely know )

  4. Oh, that stinks about your basement! My mom has had the same issues a few years in a row and ended up remodeling her entire downstairs. Of all people who can make lemonade out lemons it would be you though! Good luck!! Thank you so much for the feature and to all those who “liked” it!! Have a wonderful week!

  5. Thanks for hosting in the midst of your “remodeling”. Hope you have a good week!
    Blessings,

  6. Oh wow, a huge fix it job. We have had 2 basement floods, all from road work/pipe work that got plugged while the road crews were working, one pipe exploded up through the sidewalk and into out basement drain outlet. Sounds like you are doing all the right things.

    Thanks for hosting.
