Vowing to be Different

An unfortunate thing that I’ve come to realize, especially over the last several months, is that even in blogland, bloggers can be “cliquey”.  The “big bloggers” only share pages and stories of other bloggers that they like, which tends to be another big blogger.

Well, guess what?  The Ironstone Nest is vowing to be different.  If you want me to share something on my Facebook page and Twitter (maybe an interesting project – with a link to the specific post), I want to do that for YOU.  I may not be a “big blogger” with thousands of readers, but I do desire to inspire others and help others all at the same time.  I want to collaborate, not compete, and I want YOU to feel special.

YOU are unique. YOU are incredible.  And I want other people to find out more about YOU.

Send me an email at theironstonenest@yahoo.com if you’d like to be featured at The Ironstone Nest Facebook page!!

XOXO

Happy Valentine’s Day,
Laura

P.S.  Let me state very clearly that I am not bitter, nor do I believe that anyone is clicky intentionally.  Big bloggers do AMAZING things, which of course is why they’re so big.  But not all bloggers are big bloggers and they’re still doing amazing things that are worthy of being shared.  And we all gotta start somewhere so I just want to help anyone that wants help.

  2. Interesting post Laura. I’m not big, but hope I’m always open to sharing and helping.
    Blessings,

  3. Great post and it is definitely true! Thanks for posting and Happy Valentine’s Day to you!!!

  4. You rock Laura! I just shared a post today about supporting each other.I don’t know why people feel they have to make others feel that they are less than they are.Big or small blog who cares.Actually there are very successful women that have small blogs. So the size does not matter.
I LOVE supporting each others blogs, achievements and businesses. It is so important for all of us to support one another.I would love to be featured.I feel it is an honor to be featured on any blog.Thank you so much for sharing this.
    xx

  5. Hi Laura: I totally agree and understand and I am a gigantic smaller blogger than you!!! But I am having fun, have a few loyal followers, enjoy sharing what I do and enjoy reading your blog. Keep up the great work and appreciate whatever you wish to share with the “rest of the blog world”. Happy Valentine’s Day to you.

  6. Can I say Amen?! I also think that the bigger a blogger gets the more they tend to overlook the little guy and forget what it was like back then. I’m not bitter either, just have had a personal experience as the ‘little guy’ lately. I know the bigger you get the busier you are but I’m starting to think I don’t ever want to be a big blogger if that’s the way it ends up!
You can feature me anytime you want too! LOL!

  7. Excellent idea! And I will!

  8. Good post. I’m usually just a lurker, but I love your blog!

  9. I’m not a blogger but know what you were referring to. I enjoy all the blogs I read, I keep subscribing to more and more. Finding blogs has increased my creativity so much, I’m constantly inspired by every one of the blogs I read. It’s also helped me be happier and more stimulated. So much talent out in blog land, I had no idea so many wonderful people were making, crafting, redoing, whatever they do.
Want to commend you for featuring other bloggers and their products. To me that’s what being a blogger would be about. Sharing. Hoping your Valentines day is sweet.

  10. I have not been blogging for a year yet. When I started I was not prepared for the overwhelming support from people I have never met and probably will never meet. I was floored by the sense of community here in Blogland and hope the community stays this way. I will admit I seek out parties that are not monstrously big so I can actually click and read the posts linked. Thank you for your post – look forward to the follow up.

  11. Well said!

  12. Well said! Amen, and thank you! And I’ll be glad to return the favor and feature your posts as well!! I admire your individuality and staying true to yourself and helping others! That’s what it’s all about. :)

  13. I have always enjoyed your blog and would love to be featured here sometime! Thank you for thinking of the little guy. I had also been noticing that when it came time to share “featured” blogs, it seemed as if the bigger well known ones were always coming up. The pics are always perfect and I figured maybe that was the reason. I still enjoy checking them out but it would be nice to get noticed once in awhile. Thanks for being honest and helping out!

  14. YOU ROCK!!! that’s all I have to say! Thank You for giving the little guy a voice! You are the first stone on a campaign I believe should be adopted by blogworld….Support your blogger brother and sister…after all we all feed from each other’s creativity and the good vibes and sentiments express in the comments of all our readers bloggers or not! I Vow to be Different should be the motto for 2013. Button and all…think about it!! I would proudly wear the Badge with honor! Lizy at http://justdipitinchocolate.blogspot.com

  15. What a wonderful idea and good for you standing up and voicing your opinion. I do admit that i knew some bloggers before they became the Big Bloggers that you speak of and i do not follow those blog anymore because i feel that they have lost that personal touch that attracted me to them in the first place.
I try to keep my blog very personal , as if i am talking directly to those that are reading it and pretty much, what you see is what you get with me.
    So Three Cheers for you!!!

    Hugs,
    Deb
