Fall Mantel 2012

Some of you may recall our Fall Mantel from last year:

I made a pine cone wreath, a banner and even printed an autumn quote on fabric for the picture frame on the mantel.

But I don’t have a lot of time right now to do a lot of extra projects between getting ready for the sale and taking care of 3 little kiddos, so I kept our Fall Mantel quite simple this year:

The wreaths are styrofoam forms (one 12″ and three 6″ inch) wrapped in burlap garland which you can buy in the floral department at Joann Fabric.  I spray painted the forms first so the white wouldn’t show through.  I used a brown metallic color I already had in my paint supply.
Then I added an olive satin bow to each wreath.
I added a vintage printer’s drawer that I bought at an estate sale to add some color and texture

and it came with a little surprise glued inside:

I decided to keep him there.  Isn’t he cute?

And I’ll have these vintage flash card reproductions at the sale:

I have 32 different cards with different words and different phrases to choose from!  They’re great for display in any decor!  And don’t worry, whatever doesn’t sell this Saturday will be listed in my Etsy shop  next week.

Happy Fall to you and yours!

I love how simple and clean everything looks :) I really wanted a printer tray for my mantle this year, but couldn’t find one in time, so I made a wooden plank fixture with some left over pallet wood.
