Kitchen Reveal

Where on earth did July go?  Can anyone tell me?  I’m sure it’s because of our newborn, sleep deprivation and overall chaos over here, but it went by way too fast.  Anyone else with me on that?  Before you know it, Christmas will be here.  Oh I had to go there, didn’t I?

Well, geez, I’m certainly not here to talk about Christmas today.  Not yet anyways.  I’m here to share our Kitchen with you.  In our DINING ROOM REVEAL post from last month, you can see the black granite countertop of our kitchen and part of the refrigerator as you peek into the dining room:

Well, I figured it was time to show you the other half of the space: THE KITCHEN!

Oh, yes.  It really did look like that 5 years ago when I moved in.  THAT lovely kitchen full of brown paneling pictured, which also includes our beloved Golden Retriever, Presley (I am an Elvis fan – young Elvis NOT Vegas Elvis) and our fat cat named Merch, has been transformed to this:

Our rush seat stools work perfectly in this space
I love our glass front cabinets
A peek at our laundry room in the background
Bought this sign from Ramshackled Treasures last year at Junk Bonanza and I can’t wait to see them again this year!
And of course we can’t forget about the awesome Guest Cottage sign I purchased from Susan.  I LOVE this sign!
This entire space has actually been finished for a while now and I wanted to show it to you sooner.  Really I did.  The real reason for not showing you sooner is because it’s hard to find a time when the kitchen is actually clean enough and clear of clutter to take photos.  But when Remodelaholic sent me an email last week asking if they could feature our dining room today, well that’s all the reason I needed to kick everyone out of the house so I could finally take a few photos of the kitchen to share with you!  I fell out of my chair when I received the request from them!  Thank you Remodelaholic for liking our dining room enough to feature it!

And here’s something not often seen in room reveals:

Our kitchen lit up at night.  Well, it was dusk, actually.  The under cabinet lighting is one of my favorite things in our kitchen.  That lighting is fantastic when I’m cooking!
So what do you think?  You think I should have left the brown paneling, right?
I’ll be back tomorrow with the Transformation Tuesday Link Party (are you ready?) and a few more before, during and after pictures of the kitchen and how we got from point A to point B in our kitchen remodel.

Thank you for reading!

P.S. You all know I’m not scared to show you what how our house really looks like on a daily basis.  Remember the Home Staging Too Good Not to Share post?  That’s our daily reality.

P.S.S.  Please stop by Remodelaholic and check them out.  They are super heroes in the DIY world and they share some amazing projects over there.  Please stop by and show them some love.  And thanks again to Justin, Cassity and Eliza for selecting our dining room to be featured.  What a wonderful compliment!

P.S.S.S.  You can read about the evolution of the kitchen and dining room here.

  45. I love your kitchen and that is a major transformation. The chalk board wall fits in perfectly with the style of your kitchen. It’s the little things like adding the glass doors to the upper cabinets and removing the doors and drawers from the island that really help the space to look larger.
