A Joyful Reminder

JOY: 1: the emotion evoked by well-being, success or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires; 2: a state of happiness or felicity; 3: a source or cause of delight.

Whatever the word means to you, it’s a simple feeling that can seem so elusive some days.  I decided to put a little reminder to myself to seek JOY in every possible moment in a place I find myself most of the day: at the kitchen sink:

I had these little wood pieces that I bought at Michael’s for $.99 right before the holidays.  I planned on making gift wrapped ornaments out of them for the Christmas tree, but I never got around to it.

I cut out some of the chalkboard vinyl left over from our Winter Mantel, adhered it to the wood rectangle and propped it inside one of our antique doorknob photo holders.

I put it on our glass window shelf above our kitchen sink.  I spend most of my day there, so I’ll never be able to miss this little reminder that could have a large impact on each moment of my day!

May you find joy today in whatever you do, wherever you are!

  1. It looks perfect in the window, Laura. Wonderful idea!!

When everyone was picking out a WORD for the year, I chose JOY. Finding joy in everything, large or small. So far, so good! Looks like we are thinking alike! :-)

    Jane
